While Logan Paul is a social influencer with little professional wrestling experience, many WWE fans have praised his ability to learn quickly and perform impressively on the mic and in the ring.
However, there are still missteps for Paul, including a recent segment that caused extra production work and resulted in fan outrage over his botched moments.
Friday’s WWE SmackDown featured retiring legend John Cena appearing in a backstage conversation with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.
Paul snuck into the scene behind Aldis, pushed him aside, and threw a punch that was supposed to look like it connected with Cena’s chin.
Paul’s aim didn’t work well enough to make it look legitimate, causing production to attempt to reshoot the segment.

Unfortunately, that reshoot didn’t work out either, as seen in video footage below.
An X account shared two videos featuring the separate botches that WWE used for SmackDown on Netflix and television.
The bottom video was the first version production shot, which went on Netflix. According to the X user, Paul’s “first punch barely connected,” so they tried to clean things up.
The top video shows the second version recorded for television, where Paul’s surprise attack is unconvincing as he walks straight toward Cena.
WWE actually had to re-shoot the Logan Paul vs John Cena ending segment

On social media, WWE fans called out Paul’s poorly-performed attack on Cena.
“I still don’t understand the love for Logan Paul. He forgets spots and apparently can’t throw a working punch,” an X commenter said.
“Looks like Logan Paul can’t throw a punch. One of the most basic moves to learn is a workers punch, and he still can’t do it,” an X commenter wrote.
Another X commenter wrote, “Logan Paul sucks so bad & he’s a terrible person why is this Talentless POS even in WWE ?”

Paul’s WWE career is short, as he’s been part of the sports entertainment company for four years, but he’s worked with Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Roman Reigns, and Rey Mysterio in matches.
He’ll appear in a match against John Cena at WWE’s Clash in Paris on Sunday, August 31, adding another significant superstar to Paul’s list of top-notch opponents.
