A Nashville woman’s routine shopping trip to Goodwill turned into an unexpected jackpot when she unknowingly stumbled upon a discovery that left her husband “freaking out.”
Caroline Ecker was shopping at her local thrift store when she saw a golf club set for sale for just $19.99. Interested, she sent a picture to her husband, who immediately replied.
While less than $20 may seem like a bargain for a set of golf clubs, there was one piece in particular which caught people’s eye, including Ecker’s spouse. People were quick to spy a Scotty Cameron head cover, which by itself is a highly sought-after piece of golf equipment.
“Found the clubs at Goodwill. When I sent my husband the video, he told me to buy the clubs immediately because the Scotty Cameron head cover alone would be $19.99, which was the cost of the whole bag of clubs,” Ecker told Newsweek.
After her husband’s reaction, she purchased the clubs right away, knowing that he had been considering purchasing a new set.

Ecker later posted a follow-up video capturing the moment her husband unwrapped the club, discovering to his delight it wasn’t just a head cover but a Scotty Cameron club underneath.
He can’t hide his delight, as he says in the video: “I’m extremely excited, just from the head cover alone I was like you’ve got to get this bag, just for that, that was the first thing I saw.”
As the branding on the club is revealed, he says: “Oh my god, there is no way, right off the bat… it even says Cameron on the grip and everything, this is guaranteed.”
Agreeing it was worth the $20, he added: “This is going to take my putting game to a whole other level.”
Scotty Cameron is a well-known sports equipment brand with a reputation for high quality in the golf world. While the exact value of the club is hard to know, a brand new Scotty Cameron putter like the one in the video costs upwards of $500.
Shared across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, the original video went viral, with more than 14 million views on TikTok alone since being shared last week, garnering enthusiastic reactions from golf enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike.
“When you sent your husband a video from the thrift store asking if he wants these golf clubs and he calls immediately freaking out,” she said in the video.
“That Scotty Cameron putter is like Gucci or LV,” said viewer @joekickass, while @chipwinchester1 wrote: “That bag features a club that people consider to be the Rolls-Royce of clubs.”
People couldn’t believe the price of the amazing discovery. “Awesome shopping day,” said @junction421.
“All I want in life is a wife to find bangin’ club deals,” said viewer @braydensaavedra.
“I shared because my husband said I should share the video I sent him—he said his friends wouldn’t believe it if they saw it. I was shocked by the response,” Ecker said.
This isn’t the first time a thrift store find has amazed the internet. An Alabama man recently shared a rare gaming gadget for sale at just $1.99, only to later learn it could be worth hundreds of dollars.
The Reddit user picked up the Portal 2 Sentry Turret USB Desk Defender, later finding out that it is a collectable worth up to $250.
Another self-confessed “thrift junkie” stumbled on the first eight box sets of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books—the best part? They were all first editions.
Earlier this year another Goodwill shopper stumbled on a high-end piece of homeware for just $6, but on closer inspection the 29-year-old found out that it could be worth over $100.
