Without Camera ‘Nobody Would Believe’ Incredible Moment Between Dad and Son

An astonishing moment between a father and son was captured on camera, which is lucky as nobody would believe it otherwise.

Lucas Robinson, 37, lives in Leeds, UK, and is dad to an eight-month-old baby son, Joey.

Robinson works as a senior communications engineer, and told Newsweek he deals with “all sorts of technology,” including CCTV. Because of this, he set up CCTV cameras in his home.

In a video to his TikTok account @lucasrobinson47 on July 14, a camera in his living room recorded him and Joey relaxing together on the couch, the dad smiling as he played with his son.

But as he turns his head to talk to someone off-camera, Robinson suddenly gets caught by the need to sneeze.

And at the exact same time he lets out a sneeze, his baby son does the exact same thing—both sneezes from seemingly out of nowhere, bursting out at the same time.

Hilariously, the camera picks up the very moment Robinson realizes the moment would have been captured on film, and he looks directly into the camera with a bewildered grin.

“If the camera wasn’t there, nobody would believe this timing,” he wrote over the video, adding: “Think my face says it all.”

And he wrote in a caption: “When the timing hits perfectly! 10/10.”

He told Newsweek the identical sneezing was a “big surprise,” as he had never sneezed at the same time as anyone before, “so [I] felt very humbled to have shared that moment with my new best little buddy.”

“As soon as this happened I jumped onto the app to check the camera to see if it had captured the moment.”

It exploded in popularity online, racking up more than 2.5 million views and close to 70,000 likes, as one commenter wrote: “Bless you both at the same time.”

Another joked: “I love how the baby if polite enough to raise his hand to try to cover the sneeze and you just sneeze into the wild.”

One pointed out how Robinson and Joey “both looked into the camera” after the sneeze, while one declared: “Gotta love a bit of synchronized sneezing.”

And as one commenter asked why Robinson would have CCTV in his home, he replied simply: “Check on pets, kids, security, sneezing, etc.”

Sneezing is a reflex that helps clear the respiratory tract of irritants. And it’s not a purely human thing, as many animals have the same involuntary response—like the sneezing baby panda, one of the first major viral videos which even inspired a 2014 movie.

An estimated one in three people can make themselves sneeze by looking at a bright light, according to the Cleveland Clinic. This hereditary trait is known as photic sneezing.

Reacting to his video going viral, Robinson said it “was only meant to be shared as a cute little video of a Dad and his lad,” and he “really never expected such a reaction.

“My favorite thing [about] being a Dad is these little unexpected moments—and making Joey laugh until he’s got the hiccups.”
