Triple H Confirms New PLE for New Orleans After WrestleMania Relocation

WWE fans were shocked when the company announced that WrestleMania 42 would no longer take place in New Orleans after it was announced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson back in February.

Instead, the Showcase of the Immortals is reportedly returning to Las Vegas instead after WrestleMania 41 was an unbelievable success.

Naturally, this has prompted confused responses from fans and experts alike, with many wondering what New Orleans was going to get in return for this change.

Now, it seems we have an answer.

After the shocking news of the WrestleMania 42 relocation, WWE chief content officer and head of creative, Triple H took to social media to announce new plans for the Big Easy.

“I’m sure everyone saw our joint statement yesterday regarding the shift of some of the dates on the WWE calendar,” Triple H said. “Today I want to announce to you the first of those. One of which we’re very excited about.

“Coming to New Orleans on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, will be… Money in the Bank.”

“Money in the Bank is one of our biggest events of the year with high stakes, amazing drama, and the chance of a lifetime for two WWE Superstars to walk away with the coveted Money in the Bank briefcase. We can’t wait, and we look forward to seeing you there.”

Triple H went on to promise that WrestleMania will eventually find its way to New Orleans in the near future.

“Stay tuned for more details on a WrestleMania coming to New Orleans which will be announced at a later date.”

While Money in the Bank is an exciting event, it is by no means one of the “big” premium live events. That honor belongs to SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and, of course, WrestleMania.

Still, there is another surprising piece of news hidden in this announcement: this will mark the first time that Money in the Bank was held after SummerSlam.

This may seem like a minor change, but it actually eliminates one of the key times a Superstar could cash in their Money in the Bank briefcase unless the winner wanted to wait for nearly a year.

At the moment, this is what the 2026 WWE PLE schedule looks like:

  • January – Royal Rumble (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
  • April – WrestleMania 42 (TBA, reported to be Las Vegas, NV)
  • Aug. 1, 2 – SummerSlam (Minneapolis, MN)
  • Aug. 29 – Money in the Bank (New Orleans, LA
