Downey was announced to return to the MCU in a big way, as he will take on the mantle of Doctor Doom. While people have been theorizing on how this is set to come about, he is presumably going to be the next big baddie of the Marvel Universe.
Through the massive list of actors, there were some huge surprises in the form of classic “X-Men” characters like Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier, and James Marsden as Cyclops.
Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to, but there was one name that was shockingly left off the list of the upcoming MCU film: Tom Holland.

More news: ‘Fantastic Four’ Star Says Movie Will Save The MCU
Holland has famously portrayed Spider-Man in the MCU since his first appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” After his own series of movies, Holland has been vocal about wanting to step away from the character.
Despite wanting to step away, it is well-known that “Spider-Man 4” is underway, as Sadie Sink was recently cast in the film. Could this mean that Holland is going to take his bow out of the MCU at the film’s end?
There have been rumors that Marvel will eventually bring in a live-action version of Miles Morales. Should this happen, they may take a note from the Spider-Verse movies, and see Peter Parker potentially be done away with.
While none of this is confirmed and speculation, Holland being left off the list is quite disappointing.
Holland has become one of the most beloved MCU actors, and it appears he may finally step away for good.
