Single Mom Shares ‘Wholesome’ Reason She’s Marrying Fiance After a Year

Nothing rattles Jeremy

A mom from California reaffirmed her decision to marry her partner after witnessing his just how patient he is with her 4-year-old son.

Dani Morin Lay decided to become a single mom by choice in 2020 and started the process of artificial insemination at home. After the devastating loss of her 18-month-old in 2016, Morin Lay spent four years focusing on herself and identifying what she wanted in a partner.

“I wasn’t ready to find a man yet but … I was definitely eager to be a mom again,” Morin Lay told Newsweek.

The 36-year-old then met Jeremy, also 36, through a close friend, and their connection was immediate. “For our third date, he invited me to his home in New Hampshire and decided to move to California, so we went on a 10-day road trip across [the] country where we fell in love fast,” she said.

In her reel, Morin Lay wrote how “nothing rattles” her now-husband. In the clip, her son is attempting to fit a sticky hand toy in his ear, while Jeremy appears unfazed by Rhett’s antics and continues typing on his phone. Earlier, he had apparently thrown up in Jeremy’s newly detailed Tesla “and this man could not be bothered,” she wrote on the text overlay.

“Life can be crazy with a 4-year-old and a content creator partner, but nothing fazes this man. He has patience for him and me and literally nothing rattles him. He doesn’t get sensory overload like moms, and I really value his soft spokeness and patience,” Morin Lay said.

Morin Lay’s reel has racked up more than 5.5 million views and over 700 comments from other social-media users—some of whom had nothing but respect for Jeremy.

“That is some true love right there. Good thing you are marrying him,” one user wrote. Another mom shared how they married someone who didn’t have kids, which was an adjustment for him in the beginning. “His bachelor pad soon had blocks and nerf darts everywhere. The best,” they commented.

“This is so wholesome, bless this man,” a third wrote. A fourth user commented: “Don’t let him go! Virtuous fathers are far and few.”

Speaking to the reaction online, Morin Lay said that many people encouraged her to “lock him down,” but the couple had already planned their San Juan Capistrano wedding months in advance. “We said ‘I do’ on Saturday in front of 150 of our closest friends,” she added.
