Over the past few months, the Washington Commanders have been in an ongoing standoff with wide receiver Terry McLaurin. As things still haven’t worked themselves out, a shocking update has emerged.
Following his departure from minicamp, McLaurin held out for the first four days of training camp before eventually re-joining his teammates. He has not fully been integrated yet, as Washington had to put him on the PUP list due to injury.
Even though the Commanders have stood firm on their desire to retain McLaurin, the star wideout still finds himself without a new contract. Per recent reports, his frustrations appear to be mounting.

On Thursday evening, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the latest regarding McLaurin and the Commanders. In light of him and the front office not coming to terms on a reasonable offer, he has requested a trade from Washington.
While McLaurin appears to be open to a change of scenery, Schefter also noted that the Commanders are entertaining the idea of a trade at this time.

As one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL today, a market is sure to form for McLaurin in light of these developments. However, it also puts more pressure on the Commanders to be more willing to compromise with their homegrown talent.
Only time will tell if the Commanders decide to budge and pay McLaurin what he’s asking for or end this saga with a trade.
