A Kentucky woman hit the thrifting jackpot when she discovered a vintage slip dress in a second-hand store—and she was left speechless when she saw the designer label.
Amber Yackzan, 26, was in one of her favorite Goodwill stores last week when she spotted the cream lace gown “tucked away” in the sleepwear section. She instantly gravitated to the dress to get a closer look at it, but nothing could have prepared her to see the Christian Dior label inside.
She told Newsweek that she “freaked out” when she realized it was vintage Dior, and of course it went straight into her cart.
“I’ve been loving the slip dresses and lingerie-as-daywear trend lately, so this piece was right up my alley,” Yackzan said. “It’s a stunning vintage Christian Dior slip dress. It fits like it was made for me, and I already have the perfect outfit planned around it.”

The gown features a tailored body and a layer of delicate lace to provide the ultimate vintage design. Yackzan said the dress is in perfect condition, and to make it even better, it cost just $6.
While she hasn’t managed to wear the dress yet, she has already planned to wear it in the coming days for a dinner date with her husband before their upcoming move to New York. Her idea is to style it with cowboy boots to give the dress the moment it truly deserves.
“I have a handful of iconic finds that I think of as my favorite thrifting purchases, and this definitely goes in that category. It’s perfect for spring and totally fits my current style,” Yackzan continued.
Yackzan posted about her “dream find” on TikTok (@amberyackzan) and the video has delighted internet users. In just days, it has amassed over 504,200 views and more than 28.700 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
She’s been blown away by the online reaction, and she hopes it will inspire others to look for hidden treasures in second-hand stores.
“I’m a part of the kindest community on my social media platforms, and I love getting to share my life and thrift finds with them,” Yackzan told Newsweek.
She continued: “There’s a common misconception that the thrift stores I go to are just better than other places, but I truly believe it’s about consistency and a little bit of luck. Kentucky still has affordable thrifting, which I know isn’t the case everywhere, but finding great pieces comes down to showing up often and keeping an open mind.”
With over 140 comments on the viral TikTok post so far, internet users have hailed the incredible thrifting discovery.
One comment on the post reads: “Seriously you are the fairy princess thrift finder.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “I’m screaming … such a beautiful find.”
While another person added: “You found my thrift dream!”
