Internet users have been left in hysterics by a jealous rottweiler who had FOMO over her brother’s ear infection—insisting that she too needed medical attention.
Dog owner Zahra Francis shared a hilarious video on TikTok (@zahrafranciss) showing the moment her 5-year-old dog, Nicki, became envious of her brother, Cujo, receiving ear drops for an infection. During the clip, Francis’s partner, Luke Akhurst, was administering the ear drops to Cujo, aged 2, only for Nicki to lay down and demand some medication too.
Francis, of Sydney, Australia, couldn’t help but laugh Nicki’s antics. This certainly isn’t a one off either, as she told Newsweek that Nicki “gets jealous whenever Cuo gets something.” It doesn’t matter if it’s treats, a toy, or apparently medical ear drops—she always wants what he has.
“When we gave Cujo the ear drops for the first time, Nicki tried to stop us from doing it and was getting in the way,” Francis said. “Then she lay down when we finished doing Cujo’s ear drops, making it look like she wanted them, so we pretended to give her ear drops as well.”

Just to appease Nicki’s FOMO (fear of missing out), Akhurst put the lid back on the ear drops and pretended to administer the exact same treatment.
“I thought was so funny because Nicki is his favorite dog and he obviously doesn’t want to make her feel left out,” Francis continued.
Indeed, when Francis and Akhurst took Cujo to the vet when he was diagnosed with an ear infection, Nicki “looked so sad” at the time. It wasn’t out of concern for her brother though, but simply because he got to go in the car and she didn’t.
Fortunately, Cujo is perfectly fine now after the infection and is back to his normal self.
After sharing the video of Nicki on TikTok last month, the clip has gone viral with over 908,700 views and more than 100,600 likes at the time of writing. Layered over the video, the caption jokes: “POV: one dog has an ear infection, the other has FOMO.”
The online response to the video is beyond anything Francis expected, as internet users simply can’t get enough of Nicki’s diva behavior.
“A lot of people were saying how funny it was, others were relating to the ear infections, or jealousy of other dogs, and we even had a few concerns that we were going to give Nicki an ear infection but, of course, we put the lid back on the dropper to be prevent that from happening,” Francis told Newsweek.
In just a matter of days, the TikTok video has amassed over 200 comments as internet users lauded Nicki’s demands.
One comment reads: “The lil gripper on the wall took me out.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “she put her head to the side, like oooh no I guess it’s my turn now.”
While another person added: “the beep beep beep noises so she doesn’t think it’s not legitimate.”
