The 2025 PLAYERS Championship concluded on Monday morning following a four-hour rain delay during the final round. Rory McIlroy bested JJ Spaun in a three-hole aggregate score playoff at TPC Sawgrass to clinch his second PLAYERS title.

McIlroy has been playing incredibly well this season, and Paige Spiranac, golf influencer, has noticed.

Following Rory’s victory, Spiranac took to X, formerly Twitter, to call her shot.

“Rory to win The Masters. I know but really this year is the year it’s happening,” Spiranac wrote.

Spiranac, of course, is referencing what golf fans have come to ridicule. The idea that McIlroy will finally complete the career Grand Slam by winning the Masters.

McIlroy took the golf world by storm a little over a decade ago. He quickly won the U.S. Open in 2011 and Open Championship a year later.

Then in 2014, the Northern Irishman won two more majors, the PGA Championship and his second Open title.

That prompted everyone from golf media to the players themselves to believe the next Tiger Woods had arrived.

Alas, that was not to be.

The 28-time PGA Tour winner has now gone more than a decade since his last major title. Will this be the year he snaps that drought? More importantly, will he don the Green Jacket at Augusta National?

Spiranac clearly thinks so, and it is easy to see why.

Even though this was McIlroy’s second PLAYERS victory (2019), he actually accomplished a few career firsts.

Of the eight players to win multiple PLAYERS titles, McIlroy is the only European to do so. But a more telling stat for this year is the fact that McIlroy now has two wins on American soil in the same season prior to the Masters. That is the first time he has done that.

He has played in four tournaments on Tour this season. Rory won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He then garnered a T17 and T15 at the Genesis and Arnold Palmer Invitational, respectively.

For the first time since 2022, McIlroy finished in the top 10 in strokes gained putting in back-to-back weeks.

We all know he possesses an advantage off the tee.

Even his scrambling was, well, on par this week.

All that is left to do is for Rory McIlroy to close the deal and win The Masters. Do you think he will do it? Let us know in the comments below.
