Elle King has welcomed a new baby, and has given her son a name with similar regal associations to the one she chose for herself.
The “Exes and Ohs” singer, 35, took to Instagram on Friday, February 28 to announce the birth of her new son with partner Daniel Tooker. “Our family just got a little bit brighter. Welcome to the world Royal Tooker 💙,” the singer-songwriter wrote in the caption of a black and white photo of herself, her tattoo artist partner, and their second child. (King and Tooker also share a 3-year-old son, Lucky.)
Many fans and friends took to the comments to congratulate the happy couple. “Welcome Royal!!! You are SO loved!! ❤️ Congratulations friends!!!! Can’t wait to meet him 🤗” wrote one well-wisher. Another added, “Yay so happy for you ! ❤️.” Another commenter wrote, “Royal .. welcome to this happy family!”

A few famous names were even spotted amongst the comments. Comedian Amy Schumer commented, “Girllllllllll!!!!!” while Chelsea Handler wrote, “Congratulations!!!” Fellow singer-songwriter Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, wrote, “I love you all 👏👏.”
King, who was born Tanner Elle Schneider, is herself the daughter of a celebrity. Her parents are model London King and comedian Rob Schneider, who divorced when the singer was still an infant. She chose to go by her mother’s surname when she began her music career, and has since become estranged from her father.
During an August 2024 interview, King said that she will often go “four or five years” without talking to Schneider. She mentioned that her father sent her to a “very toxic” weight loss program, which she called a “fat camp,” and that she did not agree with his stance on “drag and anti-gay rights.”
