Reality of Living with Teenage Saint Bernard Caught on Pet Cam—’No Words’

The incriminating pet cam footage showing the reality of owning a mischievous teenage Saint Bernard dog has left the internet in hysterics.

Dog owner Emma Poole, 21, certainly has her hands full with her 1-year-old Saint Bernard puppy, named Hank. He may be larger than most dogs, but Poole tells Newsweek that he’s also incredibly loving and “a little wild” occasionally.

As much as Poole, of Kentucky, would love to be with Hank all day, she does also have to leave the house sometimes. The pet camera captured exactly what Hank got up to when his owner left the house—and it left Poole stunned.

“I left the house for a few hours and saw on the camera that he had flipped the couch round,” Poole said. “He had bitten the back flap of the couch and was pulling it backwards. Then he trapped himself so that when he tried to jump over it, he flipped the couch.”

Poole couldn’t resist sharing the hilarious pet cam footage on TikTok (@hammond_farms), joking about what it’s like owning a teenage Saint Bernard. The clip shows the large dog dragging the two-seater couch closer to the door and then climbing up onto it.

Since the video was shared on October 24, it has gone viral with over 538,200 views and more than 49,300 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

The caption alongside the video jokes: “Is this real lie? I have no words.”

Thankfully, Poole managed to see the humor in her dog’s antics. While the couch may have paid the price, fortunately Hank was fine after.

“When I saw the footage, I was laughing out loud, even though it’s really not funny. The only damage he caused was that the back of my couch is a little messed up. Now, he has a gigantic crate that he stays in when I’m not home, or he stays outside,” Poole continued.

The online reaction to the video is beyond anything Poole expected. Internet users can’t get enough of Hank’s chaos, leading many to defend his behavior and insist he was just trying to help.

Poole has been inundated with messages and comments from people who thought the pet cam footage was “so funny.” She’s glad her giant ball of fur could bring joy to so many people.

“People usually love him because he’s such a huge dog and not many people have Saint Bernards anymore. Hank is my baby, but he is huge and still a puppy,” Poole told Newsweek.

Since the video went viral, it’s generated over 190 comments on TikTok so far.

One comment reads: “He wanted to make some changes to the living room I see.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “He did not like how you placed the couch.”

Another person joked: “He’s an interior designer who specializes in Feng Shui.”

While one commenter added: “Personally I think the couch looks good there.”
