Roman Reigns is, without a doubt, the definitive star of his generation.
Whether you like him or not, you cannot deny that he has had an immeasurable effect on the industry and is one of the biggest draws in wrestling history.

Right now, Reigns is looking to main event his 10th WrestleMania, heading into a triple threat match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins. So let’s take a look at his previous main events and see which is the best of the best.

9. Roman Reigns vs. Triple H (WrestleMania 32)
While Reigns is looked upon fondly today, this was not always the case. For a solid amount of time, it seemed the entire WWE fanbase had turned on The Big Dog, likely because he was being shoved down their throat like Super Cena had been before.
This was not helped when he faced off against Triple H at WrestleMania 32. What resulted was an incredibly slow match where the crowd mostly booed Reigns. Needless to say, it remains a low point in Reigns’ career.
8. Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania 33)
The Undertaker is widely regarded as one of the best big men to ever step into the squared circle. However, this match did not live up to the expectations he had built of his legendary career.
Another slow match, this one was filled with constant booing and random chants from the crowd, much to the detriment to what was happening in the ring.
According to Taker himself, he was really banged up before heading into the match and that slowed him down a bit. Additionally, there is footage of him apologizing to Reigns later for not living up to expectations.
7. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar 2 (WrestleMania 32)
Brock Lesnar and Reigns’ first WrestleMania main event was a sight to behold for many reasons that we’ll get into later, and fans were wondering just how they were going to top their next bout.

Unfortunately, their answer was to hit as many finishers as possible as if they were in a video game. Needless to say, it wasn’t what anyone wanted and everyone, even those involved in the match, weren’t happy with it.
Still, it’s always fun to watch Reigns and Lesnar go at it. Both men are absolute beasts and
6. Roman Reigns and The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins (WrestleMania 40 Night 1)
Of all the main events that Reigns was a part of, this one seemed the most inconsequential. At this point, it was widely believed that WWE was going to raise the stakes as high as possible before Cody Rhodes finally took home the gold.
The match itself took a long time to get started as is the case with many Bloodline matches, but the grandiosity of the names involved (mostly The Rock) did make everything feel bigger
Despite this, there is still joy in seeing incredible ring technicians working with some of the biggest names wrestling has ever seen. That being said, it was a mere stepping stone to Night 2’s main event.
5. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar 3 (WrestleMania 38)
After Reigns vs. Lesnar 2 was a disappointment, expectations were a bit stifled for their third and final WrestleMania main event. However, this time both wrestlers were world champions. Whoever won, they would be, hands down, the top wrestler in WWE.
Needless to say, both participants went at it with everything they got, and the crowd was absolutely invested. In the end, Reigns earned a victory and the true reign of the Tribal Chief began.
4. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes 1 (WrestleMania 39 Night 2)
In 2023, the only thing wrestling fans wanted was for Cody Rhodes to finish the story and win the championship his father, Dusty Rhodes, had never won.
Rhodes and Reigns had an epic fight, with Reigns sticking in it with the help of the Bloodline and Rhodes surviving purely based on his own toughness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, and the Tribal Chief was able to stand tall once again.
While the ending was controversial at the time, it led to one of the best endings to a WrestleMania in the history of the event (more on that later).
3. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar 1 (WrestleMania 31)
Looking at all three of Reigns and Lesnar’s bouts, it’s clear the first one is the best. No matter how you felt about Reigns at the time, seeing these two powerhouses go at it felt novel and exciting.
Despite Lesnar being on the offensive for most of the match, Reigns was able to keep getting up and prove that he could hang with one of the most terrifying Superstars of all-time.
But what seals this match as one of the greatest main events in WrestleMania history is Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to pin Reigns and take home the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. To this day, it remains one of the best cash-ins in WWE history.
2. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes 2 (WrestleMania 40 Night 2)
Last year’s main event remains one of the ultimate feel-good moments in all of wrestling, let alone WrestleMania. Against all odds (and a conniving Dwayne Johnson), Cody Rhodes was back at the main event challenging Reigns for the title.
The odds seemed more stacked against Rhodes than ever, with the entire Bloodline and The Rock behind Reigns. Still, with some help from the biggest names in WWE, Cody was finally able to win and finish the story.
This match was pure spectacle, with stars from multiple different eras coming out to aid the American Nightmare. What resulted was one of the best conclusions to a WrestleMania in WWE history.
1. Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Edge (WrestleMania 37)
At this point in his career, Reigns had just begun his reign as the Tribal Chief and he seemingly had a stranglehold on the WWE. That being said, this wasn’t the case when he faced off against Edge and Daniel Bryan.
Two Superstars wildly over with fans, Edge and Bryan were Reigns’ toughest opponents up until this point. Throughout the match, it genuinely felt that anyone in that ring could win the title.
However, Reigns was able to come out on top, pinning both opponents at the same time and establishing himself as the most dominant wrestler in WWE.
Really, this or Reigns vs. Rhodes 2 could be at the top of this list based on whether you prefer spectacle or in-ring storytelling. In the end, this is the match that truly established the Tribal Chief as we know him today, so it barely takes number one on this list.
