Radio Host Makes Shocking Prediction on Commanders WR

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

Coming off a strong 2024 campaign, the Washington Commanders enter this season eager to capitalize on their newfound momentum. As they prepare for the preseason, they still face a major roadblock to doing so. After weeks of negotiations, the front office remains at an impasse with wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin desires a contract extension, and the Commanders want to give him one. However, the two sides have failed to reach a price point agreeable for both sides. The veteran wideout believes he is deserving of a deal comparable to the market, while Washington is hesitant to offer a large salary to a receiver turning 30 in a month.

Due to the Commanders not meeting his desires, McLaurin informed the team he wants to be traded. Similar to when this ordeal first began, Washington has maintained their stance of not wanting to move their homegrown talent.

Given how long things have dragged out, nobody knows when and how this saga is going to end. That said, one radio host gave a shocking prediction about McLaurin.

While speaking recently on 106.7 The Fan, Lynnell Williams shared his belief that McLaurin has played his last game for the Commanders.

“I believe Terry McLaurin has played his final game as a member of the Commanders,” Williams said. “I either see him sitting out and playing the petty game and filing grievances against the team. Because he’s on PUP, that’s what muddies this entire situation…They put him on PUP, that provides protection for both sides.”

At the start of training camp, McLaurin opted to continue his holdout that started back in minicamp. Upon racking up hefty fines the first four days, he opted to arrive and join the team. However, he was then put on the Physically Unable to Perform list due to an ankle injury.

This ordeal dragging on so long is a tough blow for the Commanders, as they need McLaurin on the field. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is preparing to follow up his impressive rookie season and hasn’t gotten any reps with his top target. Also, Washington hasn’t gotten the chance to work with its new dynamic receiver duo of McLaurin and Deebo Samuel.

With McLaurin and the Commanders still reportedly far apart in contract talks, a final result remains nowhere in sight.
