When Pete Davidson said he was getting rid of his tattoos — and he wasn’t lying.
Davidson, 30, was recently photographed at an event in Los Angeles with seemingly way less tattoos than usual. In the photos obtained by TMZ, which were taken on October 23 at the sneak preview of The Room at the Intuit Dome, the comedian posed for the camera with noticeably bare arms while standing next to his fully tattooed friend, Machine Gun Kelly.
Though some of the former Saturday Night Live star’s tattoos are still faintly visible, the difference is clear. His tattoo removal journey began in 2020 when the Bupkis actor revealed he would be saying goodbye to his ink, telling People, “They said by the time I’m 30, they should all be gone. So they got like two more years left of this.”
When asked about the reason behind the removal, The King of Staten Island star explained that his main motivation was acting. “I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act, and I love it a lot,” he told Seth Meyers in 2021 during an interview on The Late Show With Seth Meyers. Later in the same interview, Davidson added that it takes around three hours for a makeup artist to cover up his tattoos on set.
Fans took to social media to share their reactions to the actor’s new bare-skin look. One fan on Instagram wrote, “He looks alot better. Hope he stays sober that’s the hardest part.” A second shared words of encouragement, saying, “I have never seen this man look so healthy and happy. Whatever he is doing he should stay in that path.” A third added, “Gone are the dark circles under his eyes. He looks healthy .”
Most fans seem to feel the change is a positive one for Davidson, and they wish him the best as he turns his attention to acting.
