Aaron Rodgers has been the talk of the NFL offseason thus far. While other big moves have been made, there has been new story after news story about Rodgers.

He has earned that kind of recognition. The 41-year-old star is one of the best quarterbacks that the league has ever seen. For the first, he’s a free agent with the chance to pick the team he wants to play for next.

No one knows what’s going to end up happening. Recent reporting has suggested that Rodgers wants to play for the Vikings if he had his choice.

While he waits for Minnesota to decide if they want him, he has forced both the Giants and Steelers to continue remaining patient.

Could those two teams run out of patience at some point and move on from the idea of signing Rodgers even before he makes up his mind?

It sure looks like New York is exploring other options.

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Giants have set up a visit with free agent quarterback Jameis Winston on Tuesday. They have also met with Russell Wilson.

Even though they would love to add Rodgers, they’re not going to wait and miss out on all the other quarterback options.

Bringing in Winston and visiting with Wilson could signal that New York is willing to move on from the dream of signing Rodgers. Either quarterback would be a great bridge option.

In an ideal world, the Giants would be able to land Winston or Wilson and double down by drafting Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is no guarantee that scenario will make itself available, but it’s a very real possibility.

All fans can do is wait and see what New York chooses to do and what Rodgers ends up deciding. The Giants cannot rush Rodgers to make a decision, but they can move on and find another quarterback option.

As has been the case since free agency opened, the entire NFL will continue on with the “Rodgers Watch.”
