
MrBeast’s birthday message to himself went viral within minutes on social media.
“Happy Birthday MrBeast!” the popular YouTuber wrote on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.
The Context
MrBeast—whose real name is James “Jimmy” Donaldson—began his career posting gaming videos, largely consisting of Call of Duty and Minecraft play videos. In 2017, he went viral for sharing a nearly 24-hour video of himself counting to 100,000. Today, the Kansas native boasts 392 million subscribers on the platform and is known for his extravagant challenges and humanitarian projects.
In addition to his large YouTube following, Donaldson also has 115.3 million TikTok followers, 69.3 million Instagram followers and 32.5 million followers on X, formerly Twitter.
Meanwhile, his Amazon Prime Video Beast Games reality competition quickly shattered numerous Guinness World Records, and his entrepreneurial efforts even extend into food, with brands like Feastables, MrBeast Burger and Lunchly.
In 2022, Forbes reported that Donaldson was worth $500 million—bringing in an estimated $54 million annually—and could become the world’s first YouTuber billionaire.

“MrBeast is writing a new thriller novel with author James Patterson,” Complex Pop Culture wrote on X on Monday. “It will focus on contestants competing in ‘an extreme global competition.’ Publishing in 2026.”
Donaldson reposted Complex‘s note along with his own statement.
