Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied media reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin had fallen out with his foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, over the cancellation of a proposed meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Hungary.

The Trump-Putin summit was dropped after a preparatory call between Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made clear there would be little progress towards peace in Ukraine.

“There is nothing true in these reports,” Peskov said, originally in Russian, state news agency TASS reported.

“Of course, Lavrov continues to serve as foreign minister,” Peskov added.
