The Knicks come in holding the No. 3 seed in the East playoff picture, sitting with a record of 43-26 on the year. This team is pretty much locked into the No. 3 seed barring anything wild happening but they also want to enter the postseason clicking on all cylinders.
This game against the Wizards gives them a chance to get a big win that would stop the bleeding a little. Washington is one of the worst teams in the NBA so this is a good opportunity for New York.
However, they remain without the services of star guard Jalen Brunson. Brunson has been out due to a right ankle sprain and has missed multiple games.

New York still has star center Karl-Anthony Towns and forward Mikal Bridges, giving them some firepower. But they can’t underestimate this Washington squad as they head into this game.
Washington comes into this contest with the worst record in the East, sitting at 15-54 for the year. It’s been a tough season for the Wizards but they are trying to end the year on a high note.

Like the Knicks, they are dealing with some injuries heading into this game. Washington will be without a few players heading into this game.
The most notable is veteran forward Khris Middleton who has been ruled out due to injury management. Middleton has given Washington a stable veteran presence since coming over during the NBA trade deadline.

For his time with the Wizards, Middleton has averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. His production as a whole this year has been down but injuries have heavily taken their toll on Middleton.
Washington has a chance to play spoiler down the stretch of the season, starting with this game. It won’t be easy but the Wizards have shown themselves to be a feisty group after the roster shake-up at the trade deadline.
