The corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams was dismissed by a federal judge on Wednesday morning.
It followed a request by the Justice Department to set aside criminal charges so the Democrat could help with President Donald Trump‘s immigration crackdown.
Judge Dale E. Ho’s order also denied prosecutors the ability to potentially bring the criminal case back after the mayoral election.
It means Adams would not have to govern the city with the risk of the Trump Administration using the revival of charges as leverage over him.
This is a developing story and more information will be added shortly.
