Recently, Hendry made history by becoming the first world champion in another promotion to wrestle a match at WrestleMania 41. While it was a brief squash match in favor of Randy Orton, it still remains one of the highlights of the weekend.
Now, it looks like Hendry is going to make pro wrestling history once again, this time with NXT.

On the May 6 episode of NXT, Hendry joined Hank and Tank in a three-on-three match against The Dark State.
Unfortunately, they wound up losing the match when former NXT Champion Trick Williams interfered, removing Hendry from the ring.
This led to Hendry confronting NXT general manager Ava, wanting to get revenge against Williams.
Ava agreed with Hendry, scheduling a match between him and Williams at NXT Battleground on June 9. However, it will be for the TNA World Championship.
This marks the first time in professional wrestling history that a non-WWE championship will be defended on a WWE premium live event (PLE).
At this moment, it remains hard to see Hendry losing the match against Williams, especially after he substituted in for Kevin Owens at WrestleMania. Additionally, he remains one of the most popular figures among pro wrestling fans today.
