JK Dobbins Sends Blunt Wake-Up Call to Broncos Offense

The Denver Broncos improved to 8-2 with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, but the vibe in the postgame locker room at Mile High Stadium wasn’t exactly joyous.

The Broncos were clearly frustrated by the way their offense performed in the 10-7 victory.

Led by a disappointing performance from quarterback Bo Nix, Denver recorded just 220 yards of total offense, punted seven times, allowed two sacks, threw two interceptions and missed a field goal. The Broncos’ offense converted on just five of their 15 third-down attempts, several of which resulted in three-and-outs.

Boos rained down from the fans at Mile High Stadium on multiple occasions — a rare occurrence for an 8-2 team.

Veteran running back J.K. Dobbins addressed these frustrations during his postgame interview. He completely understands where the fans are coming from, and agrees that the offense needs to hold up their end of the bargain.

“The defense is winning us the games, and we’re not helping them. We’re not doing them any justice,” Dobbins said. “I feel bad the way we play on offense and the way they play on defense because they’re doing so great and we’re doing so bad. They’re our brothers, too, and it just sucks because they’re just out there so many plays, playing their butts off. We can’t keep doing this to them.”

The Broncos have one of the most dominant defenses in the NFL, allowing just 270.7 yards and 17.3 points per game through their first 10 contests. Led by Defensive Player of the Year candidate Nik Bonitto, Denver has by far the most sacks in the league so far this season (46.0).

The Broncos added six more sacks to their season total on Thursday night, also forcing eight punts and logging one interception against the Geno Smith-led Raiders offense.

Denver now turns its attention toward a highly-anticipated AFC West matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.
