WNBA All-Star Weekend took a hit when team captain and 3-Point Contest contestant Caitlin Clark was ruled out of all events after suffering a setback in Indiana’s final game before the break.
Clark is dealing with a groin injury that kept her out for some time earlier in the season, and while it might be minor this time around, the team and their medical staff must make sure she is properly rested before once again giving it a go. Without Clark, the Fever are not title contenders, and they need their star point guard to be as healthy as possible before the playoffs.
Now exiting the break, Clark has been ruled out for at least this game on Tuesday against Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and the Liberty. It is not clear when she might return at this time, but her next opportunity would be Thursday against Las Vegas. However, it would not be surprising if she misses at least a couple more games before returning to the floor.
Her absence opens the door for Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell to once again play key roles for Indiana until Clark returns to full health. They both made the All-Star team this year and are averaging over 34 points a night combined.
This is a great WNBA matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
