The Cognizant Classic third round takes place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the beautiful PGA National Members Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The event takes place on a par-70 course that is 7,125 yards long with a fantastic prize purse of $9.2 million. The previous winner of the event is 26-year-old American golfer Austin Eckroat, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour. Eckroat also has a top-10 finish in the U.S. Open under his belt, a result he earned in the 2023 season. Eckroat isn’t having as much success this time in the tournament, as the young golfer is tied for 110th overall near the end of the second round at one under par.

The leader heading into the third round of the tournament is American golfer Jake Knapp at 13 under par. Knapp is 30 years old and attended UCLA before turning pro. Knapp is ranked 99th on the PGA Tour. Knapp has five wins on his resume in his career, one of which came on the PGA Tour. He has also played in the weekend at one major tournament before, the 2024 Masters.
One golfer is right on his heels heading into the weekend. France’s Matthieu Pavon is in sole possession of second place at 12 under par after shooting seven under par on Friday. There are four other golfers tied for third at 11 under par, including former Florida State standout Daniel Berger, as well as Sweden’s Jesper Svensson.
