A grandad from Wisconsin has become a social media sensation after doing his very first ‘fit check—and Newsweek spoke with the granddaughter who posted it about “our” grandpa’s new-found fame.
Kennedy Stephens (@yeahhhh000000), 20, posted a clip of her grandpa attempting the popular trend on TikTok, where people show off their outfits and say where each item is from.
In the video, Greg Green, 72, claims to not know what a ‘fit check is, but then he does something surprising.

Stephens simply explained that a ‘fit check is where you present what you’re wearing and tell viewers where it’s from.
What followed was a hilarious breakdown of his outfit that has TikTok users obsessed.
“This is a coat. This coat is from a goat. This is a sweater. It’s for the weather. These are Levi’s, and they’re mine. My shoes? They’re Brooks. Under these arms. I have guns, but I’m not loading it today. I’m going out to dinner. I don’t want to hurt anybody.”
Stephens told Newsweek that she didn’t think the video was all that funny to begin with.
“My grandad is always being goofy, and this video was actually pretty tame for him,” she said. “I was very happy to see so many people get to enjoy that aspect of him.”
The internet has fully embraced the 72-year-old. In her TikTok bio, Stephens has even written: “You’re probably only here for my Grandad”.
With over 684,000 views and almost 6,000 comments, the Gen Z granddaughter could be onto something.
“Grandpa has all the personality. We are here for more Grandpa content,” one user wrote.
“Grandpa is definitely the family entertainment. This is a great fit check!” another said.
Stephens told Newsweek that her grandad’s humor has been a constant in her life: “My grandad is always being silly I don’t think I have ever seen him serious. He enjoys making people laugh and has taught me it’s okay to stand out.”
The pair also shares a close bond, often teasing each other and catching up over meals.
Stephens said she loves how her grandad is always up for anything, including nailing a ‘fit check on his first try.
Speaking to the reaction online, she said many users have said he knocked it out of the park.
“Another reaction we have been getting is how wholesome the video is,” she said. “There have been a lot of people saying, ‘He is OUR grandad now’.”
