Colón-Zayas joins what so far remains a very short cast list for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. Tom Holland returns to lead the fourth solo “Spider-Man” film in the current series, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon expected to return. Sadie Sink has also joined the cast but so far her role is shrouded in mystery, with fans speculating everyone from Jean Grey of the X-Men to a new version of Mary Jane Watson.

No details have been released about the plot of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, though we know it will find Tom Holland’s Peter Parker starting off in a difficult place.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” ends with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), at Peter’s urging, casting a spell that causes everyone in the Multiverse to forget that Peter Parker and Spider-Man are the same person. While it saves the world from being overrun by countless Spidey villains, the spell also renders Peter friendless and penniless.
While the film left Peter Parker penniless, it certainly didn’t do the same for Marvel or Sony. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” took in $1.9 billion from global ticket sales, leaving no mystery as to why there is demand for a fourth film.
So far, one of the more surprising pieces of news surrounding Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is that he has yet to be named as part of the cast for next year’s “Avengers: Doomsday”. His name was absent from the long list of Marvel stars announced, but there are more names reportedly coming.
Colón-Zayas won an Emmy for playing the line cook Tina Marrero on “The Bear”. Her win was a historic one, making her the first Latina to win the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Along with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, her upcoming work includes the TV movies “Until the Wedding” and “Driven”. Her film credits include “IF” and “Cat Person”.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The film hits theaters July 31, 2026.
