Now, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has revealed a major update on Pacheco, which states the running back may be back sooner than expected.
NFL reporter Tracy Wolfson spoke to Reid about the injury that Pacheco sustained, which resulted in his being ruled out for Week 9. Though MCL sprains can often take multiple weeks to recover from, the Chiefs’ back should be ready in Week 11.
Wolfson indicated on X that she spoke to Reid, who indicated that Pacheco did not suffer a significant injury, and he will be back by Week 11.
“Isaiah Pacheco OUT for today’s game but Andy Reid telling me he avoided serious injury and should be back after the bye. Expect Kareem Hunt, Brashard Smith and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to carry the load #chiefs,” Wolfson wrote.

The Chiefs are set to play the Buffalo Bills in a huge AFC rivalry matchup on Sunday. Though it would be better if Pacheco was on the field to help Kansas City take down their rivals, he has been ruled out.
The good news for the Chiefs is that Pacheco is targeting a Week 11 return. Following the Bills’ game, Kansas City will get their Week 10 bye, which will be followed by a Week 11 showdown with the Denver Broncos.
Kansas City is currently sitting at 5-3 on the season, and they have won three straight games. A win against the Bills will place them among the top AFC teams. They will also get some huge rest in Week 10 to prepare to face the Broncos, another AFC playoff favorite.
Pacheco may have suffered an injury, but not one that will keep him sidelined for multiple weeks or placed on the IR.
