It was a family affair of sorts for Caitlyn Jenner, who celebrated her 75th birthday with a surprising selfie — one with stepdaughter Kim Kardashian.
On Monday, October 28, Jenner took to Instagram to share some photos from the celebration with her large family, including a rare photo of herself and Kardashian, whom she helped raise when she was married to Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, from 1991 to 2014. (Caitlyn, who is a parent of six adult children, shares daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner with Kris. In addition to Kim, she was also a stepparent to all of Kris’ kids with ex-husband Robert Kardashian — Kourtney, Khloe and Rob.)
In the photo, Caitlyn and Kim, 44, are seen making kissy faces in the front camera for a selfie. Another photo features the Olympic gold medalist posing with the SKIMS founder and many other members of Caitlyn’s extended family, including son Brody Jenner.
“Last night bday dinner in Malibu was so special,” Caitlyn wrote in the post’s caption. “I will post more later only a few people in these pics that were there. Family is everything! So many kids and so many of the grandkids, all in one place, at one time. You all made my birthday evening so special…and your beyond thoughtful and generous gifts made the night all the more fun (WOW!)! I love you all so much.”
Following Kris and Caitlyn’s divorce in 2014, Kim appeared in several episodes of Caitlyn’s docuseries I Am Cait, and vocally supported Caitlyn in her gender transition journey. However, following the release of Caitlyn’s 2017 memoir, The Secrets of My Life, the Kardashians opted to distance themselves from Caitlyn after she made disparaging remarks about Kris and their marriage together. Most recently, Caitlyn was notably not invited to Kourtney’s 2022 wedding to Travis Barker.
However, it appears Kim and Caitlyn were able to bury the hatchet for Caitlyn’s milestone birthday.
