The Houston Astros made waves as the final hours of the trade deadline commenced.
The Astros brought back Carlos Correa and are reportedly bringing in the left-handed hitting Jesús Sánchez from the Miami Marlins, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Sánchez is a solid bat to add to the Astros lineup, and after trading Kyle Tucker in the offseason, the Astros were right-handed heavy in their offense. Sánchez is heading to Houston with a .256 batting average and 10 home runs, and while he has not been the most powerful bat to add to the lineup, the Astros were looking for consistency from their outfield.
The Texas Rangers are surging up the standings and were making moves on deadline day as well, which forced the Astros to add to try and fend off the rest of their division.
Meanwhile, the Marlins have been on a roll recently, and while they are unlikely to catch the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card race, the Padres’ additions likely factored into the decision for the Marlins. The Marlins will be acquiring right-handed pitcher Ryan Gusto in return for Sánchez.
The Astros might not be done. There have been rumors that they may be interested in a starting pitcher, which is a market that has yet to be tapped into during this trade deadline.
With little time remaining, the Astros started to make their moves and try to counter the moves that the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers made.
