As the saying goes, “less is more.” That is not the case for the Chicago Bears offense. In their case, more is more.

There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the Bears‘ trade deadline plans, especially when it comes to veteran receiver DJ Moore. Moore has become a hot commodity in trade talks, but Chicago might not be looking to move the dual-threat receiver.
In fact, following the Bears’ dominant Week 9 win, they are unlikely to trade any of their offensive weapons.
Moore picked up 72 yards on four receptions, along with one carry for 17 yards. Despite not being used a ton in the running game, designed runs have proven that the veteran can be successful in those situations.
In a weird day where Rome Odunze was targeted three times but did not haul in any passes, the rest of the offense shone. Apart from Moore, Olamide Zaccheaus picked up 58 yards and a touchdown, and Coleston Loveland caught 60 yards and a touchdown.

Even Caleb Williams got in on the receiving touchdowns, as a trick play saw none other than Moore throw a score to Williams on a trick play.
Ben Johnson was throwing all kinds of different plays and offensive looks at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9, and it led to a dominating performance for Williams and company. The Bears’ defense also stepped up in a big way, stifling their opponent with multiple forced turnovers.
Despite the major struggles and questions about the Bears to start the season, the offense is starting to click on all cylinders. The team has pulled off five wins in their last six matchups, and a big reason for that is the inventive mind of Johnson.
Johnson needs to have all offensive players available to truly showcase his skill set as an offensive guru. Trading Moore would only serve to stifle the dangerous capabilities of this Bears’ offensive attack.
Moore has proven his value to Williams and the offense, and though it was an odd day for Odunze, the pair is one of the better wide receiver tandems in the league. If Zaccheaus can emerge as the true third receiver for Williams, this will be a trio that can best most defenses in the league.
The Bears are now 5-3, and their wins of late have shown they could be a sleeper playoff team in the NFC. Though Moore would potentially net the front office a higher round draft pick, he is better served being on the team to help this dynamic offense.
