The U.S. will send additional Patriot air defense batteries to Ukraine, according to President Donald Trump who repeated his criticism of Vladimir Putin‘s aggression.
Trump said Sunday that the U.S. would be reimbursed partially by NATO for the cost of the batteries which Kyiv has said are required to defense against Moscow’s missile and drone attacks.
Trump said that Ukraine would get the systems because the Russian president “talks nice and then bombs everybody in the evening,” adding “there’s a bit of a problem there.”
This decision is a shift for Trump, who had previously refrained from approving new weapons shipments to Ukraine since he returned to the White House.
This is a developing story.
