Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was a major headline in one of the most viral stories on Monday. It was reported that he purchased a $500,000 custom Rolls-Royce, which would be worth more than the signing bonus that he received from the team.

Sanders has been one of the most talked-about players in the NFL since he was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
While the story was reported and went viral, Shedeur’s dad, Deion Sanders, has fired back at the report.

In a post on social media, Sanders boldly sent a one-word response to the story.
“LIES!” he posted.
He didn’t elaborate further in his response. At this point, the full story has not been revealed, but there will surely be more follow-ups coming from it.

Even though the Rolls-Royce news has captured the spotlight when it comes to the younger Sanders, he’s fully focused on competing for playing time with Cleveland.
Heading into training camp and preseason action, the Browns will have five quarterbacks on the roster. Outside of Sanders, the team has Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Deshaun Watson.
Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland coaching staff will give every quarterback a chance to win the starting job. Sanders is not considered to be a front-runner, but he can’t be counted out at this point either.
During the 2025 draft, Sanders went through one of the worst slides that any player has had. He was originally expected by most to be a first or second-round pick. Not being picked until the No. 144 overall selection was a shock.

Despite the draft call, Sanders landed in a great situation. The Browns were one of the teams that many thought could take him much earlier. He’s going to have a fighting chance to get on the field early in his career.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what else comes out about the Rolls-Royce story. Sanders competing for time on the field will also be extremely entertaining.
No one should expect to see the Sanders name drop out of the media cycle anytime soon.
