The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially placed right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki on the injured list with right shoulder impingement, the team announced.
Replacing Sasaki on the active roster is right-handed pitcher J.P. Feyereisen.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said pregame Tuesday that Sasaki was dealing with arm soreness and could be placed on the IL. That move has officially come to fruition, as the rookie pitcher will miss at least the next two weeks of action as he adds to a growing list of injured pitchers for the Dodgers.

Sasaki’s velocity, which hit triple digits regularly during his time in Nippon Professional Baseball, has dipped dramatically since his debut start in the Tokyo Series for L.A.
He’s averaged just 96 mph on his fastball on the year, and has had times at which his fastball has been just 92-93 mph.
While the Dodgers didn’t appear to be too concerned with the velocity, it’s now clear that there may have been a larger issue impacting the rookie pitcher.

The Dodgers rotation is now missing three of its key pieces that were expected to lead the way at the start of the year in Sasaki, Snell and Glasnow.
Without them, Yoshinobu Yamamoto remains the anchor, with Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May acting as the other two main staples.
Landon Knack will likely remain with the big league team while L.A. may look to the minor leagues to add some more depth, whether it be with Justin Wrobleski or Bobby Miller.
