Outfielder Teoscar Hernández, who left Monday’s game in the fourth inning with what the team called left hamstring tightness, will have an MRI on Tuesday, manager Dave Roberts said after the team’s 7-4 win over the Miami Marlins.
Roberts called the injury “a little concerning,” and said the team will bring someone to Miami on the taxi squad to potentially replace Hernández on the active roster. At this moment in time, though, the team hasn’t decided if he’ll be placed on the IL.

Hernández, 32, is in the midst of a dominant season with the Dodgers, his second in Los Angeles.
After a 2024 All-Star campaign in which he also won the Home Run Derby and was a key contributor on the World Series winning team, Hernández is slashing .315/.333/.600 this season with nine home runs, an MLB-best 34 runs batted in, and an OPS of .933 in 2025.

Hernández has found a home as the cleanup hitter behind the three MVPs in the lineup in Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman. He’s become an elite run producer, and has filled his role perfectly on this MLB-best Dodgers team.
Roberts said Hernández felt the injury while chasing down a line drive in the gap in the third inning of Monday’s game. He felt tightness in both his hamstring and adductor.
The Dodgers were able to escape in Miami without Hernández, and have two more games against the Marlins before starting a huge four-game series against the National League West rival Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers offense will already be without star utility man Tommy Edman for at least the first two games of the weekend series, as he was placed on the injured list due to an ankle injury he suffered last week. He’s not eligible to return until Saturday at the earliest.
The Dodgers will hope Hernández doesn’t suffer a similar fate, but they’ll know more ahead of Tuesday’s game.
The Dodgers have struggled to find outfield production this season outside of Hernández. Losing him would be a brutal blow to the offense.
