Best Cavaliers vs. Heat Player Props, ATS Bets: Can Cavs Complete Sweep?

heat cavaliers preview

The Eastern Conference first-round matchup between the Cavaliers (1) and the Heat (8) was not expected to be competitive. Through three games, this series has been just that.

Donovan Mitchell and the Cavs scored over 120 points in each of Games 1, 2 and 3. With Miami on the brink of elimination tonight, it’s hard to see Erik Spoelstra’s team suddenly coming up with answers for one of the top offensive teams in the NBA.

That being said, completing a sweep sometimes proves tricky, and it will be interesting to see how both teams look early.

Will the Cavs start off strong and put this one away early without any drama?

Or will the Heat make tonight’s game interesting for at least a quarter or two?

Cavaliers vs. Heat Game 4 Player Props

Donovan Mitchell 30+ Points (+200 at bet365) — 0.5 units

It’s never easy to pinpoint the best prop bets in a game where the Cavs’ backups could see heavy minutes, but Mitchell has mostly been a sure thing in this series, and tonight’s game represents an opportunity to buy low after one of his worst games of the season in Game 3.

The Cavs won 124-87 on Saturday, but Mitchell finished with just 13 points on 4-for-14 shooting from the field. The good news for Mitchell backers tonight, though, is that he’s averaged 18 FGA per game in this series, and he managed to score 30 in Game 1 despite 2-for-9 3-point shooting.

Having already shown in this series that he can go for big numbers even if his outside shot isn’t falling, Mitchell is a tempting play here against a team that gave up 26 points or more to him in two of three regular-season meetings, in addition to his 30-point nights in Games 1 and 2.

In a unique situation with more variables than the typical high-intensity playoff game, going with the highest-caliber scorer on the floor in Mitchell — especially with Darius Garland listed as questionable — feels like as good a props play as any.

Cavaliers vs. Heat Game 4 Pick, Best Bets

Have we mentioned that this has been a one-sided series so far?

Instead of rehashing all the reasons the Cavs were able to win the first three games of this series by an average of over 22 points per game, let’s just say that we don’t expect Cleveland to have any trouble tonight, either.

If you’re interested in any less chalky plays, consider the Heat to keep it close for 12 minutes. Otherwise, though, the Cavs to cover feels like the obvious, but correct play if you’re interested in wagering anything on this matchup.

Cavaliers vs. Heat Game 4 Best Bets:

  • Cavaliers -8.5 (-108 at DraftKings) — 1 unit
  • Heat +3 (-110 at DK) — 0.25 units
