Walmart Employee Kills Co-Worker in Store Shooting

A Walmart worker opened fire on a colleague inside a Georgia store early Friday morning, fatally shooting the co-worker and injuring another individual outside the building, law enforcement officials said.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the Covington Walmart, located southeast of Atlanta, while the store was closed to customers but staffed with employees.

Authorities say the suspect fled the scene and was apprehended hours later in South Carolina.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office said the victims were known to the shooter, describing them as “acquaintances,” though officials have not yet provided further details regarding a possible motive or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
