
A 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Malibu area on Sunday night, affecting thousands of residents.
The earthquake hit at 8.17 p.m. PT, around eight miles from Westlake Village and nine miles from Thousand Oaks, according to the the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
No injuries or property damage have been reported, but more than 3,000 people said they had felt the earthquake as of 3.00 a.m. on Monday morning, according to the USGS.
A resident in Thousand Oaks told The Los Angeles Times they felt “a pretty good rattle” that lasted around 10 seconds.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above in the Los Angeles region.
