Lawrence joined Hawk Blogger Brian Nemhauser to talk about his departure from the Cowboys and used it to air his grievances about his former team.
While speaking to Nemhauser, Lawrence spoke candidly about why he chose to leave the Cowboys to join the Seahawks. During the interview, “Tank” took a shot at his former organization.
“Dallas is my home … but I know for sure I’m not going to win a Super Bowl there.”
Lawrence’s shot at the Cowboys was met with a bit of surprise from Nemhauser before the host of the show broke out in laughter.

Lawrence was a member of the Cowboys for 11 seasons, and the team made it to the playoffs six times out of those 11 seasons. They have also struggled to make it to the Super Bowl, which has been the common theme for the team.
Lawrence’s comment could mean that he is intent on winning a Super Bowl with the Seahawks instead, but it does sound like he is simply commenting on the reality of the situation.
As a member of the Cowboys, Lawrence has secured 61.5 sacks through 11 seasons. He was also named a Pro Bowler four times, and a Second-team All-Pro in 2017 after securing a career-high 14.5 sacks.
Lawrence appeared in only four games in 2024, as a foot injury sidelined him for most of the season. Despite only appearing in four games, he secured three sacks and forced a fumble during that time.
Now, Lawrence will become a key piece of the Seahawks’ defense, and a pass rush specialist that can aid the unit improve in 2025. According to Fox Sports, the Seahawks were ranked No. 14 in the league in total defense, allowing 332.7 yards per game, and giving up 40 touchdowns.
The Seahawks’ defense gave up 211.9 passing yards per game, and 120.8 rushing yards per game. A big part of improving the pass rush was also to find a run-stopper.
Lawrence fits the bill perfectly, as he is one of the best defensive ends in the game.
