A pet parent thought ahead, knowing her dog doesn’t do well at the groomers, but when she got the call halfway through the session, she realized her preparation didn’t help.
Shannon (@macshanx on TikTok) dropped her dog off at the groomers for a fresh haircut, hoping for a better outcome than previous appointments. The first grooming session left her dog fearful and anxious, which is common among canines.
Because of that, Shannon prepped her dog by sedating it. The hope was that the anxiety medication would help her dog relax while with the groomer. However, about 20 minutes into her dog’s grooming appointment, Shannon received a call.
“I got this message to say I needed to pick her up she’s being aggressive and going crazy and that I’d need to pay half the groom still,” Shannon told Newsweek.
The groomer couldn’t finish the haircut as Shanno’s dog jumped, kicked and wiggled during the appointment.
But Shannon doesn’t blame the groomer, who was sweet and understanding. The result is nothing new for her bichon frisé. This is the fourth groomer to refuse her dog. She knows it is “impossible” to give her dog a haircut.

Embarrassed, Shannon picked her dog up and couldn’t believe the result. She shared photos of her dog’s half-finished haircut in a March 11 TikTok video. The fur on the pup’s body was trimmed, but the groomer couldn’t cut around her face, leaving the fur long. Shannon called her dog Santa Claus because it looked like she had a long beard.
Shannon has opted for a new method of grooming to avoid the headache: home haircuts. She said she keeps her dog’s fur short to make it easier.
Viewer Reactions
With over 137,800 views and 1,737 likes on TikTok, people couldn’t get over the dog’s uneven cut.
“Oh my god the side profile beard,” pointed out one viewer.
Another commenter said: “She’s got that naughty look.”
Other viewers offered suggestions for Shannon’s dog. One person commented: “As a groomer, I just know the groomer was gutted they couldn’t finish, my advice would be to shave off completely at the vet and keep it really short and just have washes and tiny trims.”
