Sister Wives star Janelle Brown has shared a memory of her late son, Garrison Brown, and two important messages on the anniversary of his death.
On Wednesday, March 5, Janelle, 55, wrote on Instagram: “I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts. It’s been a year baby. We miss you so much. I miss you so much.”
On the same date in 2024, Gabriel Brown found his 25-year-old brother’s body in a home in Flagstone, Arizona.

At the time, Kody Brown announced the tragic loss of his and ex-partner Janelle’s son on Instagram. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” he noted, adding that his death would “leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away.”
An autopsy report obtained by People months later showed that Garrison suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and the coroner ruled his death a suicide.
In her new social media message, Janelle made a special request on her boy’s behalf.
“I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society,” she wrote. “This cause was close to Garrison’s heart—he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”
She then concluded the message with another vital resource for others who may be struggling: “If you are in crisis, please call, text or chat with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988, or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741.”
In September, Janelle revealed to People that she and her former “spiritual” spouse, Kody, 56, continue to live separate lives but they now “periodically check on each other” as he continues “grieving in his own way.”
“I do wish everybody well,” she said, adding of their son’s tragic passing: “Maybe it puts perspective, maybe it does, maybe you’re not quite so angry or so whatever.”
