One of the most popular figures on the LIV Golf tour, Anthony Kim, has been struggling through two tournaments this season.
On Wednesday, he revealed the likely reason why. Kim is suffering from a blood clot in his leg, according to a statement that he posted on Instagram.
“Long story but 2 weeks before [LIV Golf] Riyadh I started feeling bad couldn’t figure out wat (sic) was wrong,” part of the statement read. “Well found out yesterday it was a blood clot in my leg.”
Kim finished T-49 in Riyadh at even par and notched a T-51 at LIV Golf Adelaide just a week later at 10-over par.

During the 2024 season, Kim made the shocking decision to join LIV Golf after 12 years away from professional golf. He last payed on the PGA Tour in 2012 and appeared to have a blossoming career on the sport’s premier circuit. Kim picked the sport back up after injuries forced him out following that year’s Wells Fargo Championship.
Kim never really found his form of old in 2024, never finishing better than 36th at a LIV event. He finished just one tournament under par.
As a result of the diagnosis, it seems unlikely that Kim will be able to tee it up in Hong Kong for the next LIV event on March 7. The tour will head to Singapore the next week before trips to Miami and Mexico City in April as well.
The major buzz around LIV Golf at the moment surrounds the contracts of some of its star players.
Golfers like Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have deals expiring in 2026, so the league is hard at work trying to retain them long past that date.
