Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond turned himself in to Frisco Police on Thursday morning on an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Bond posted bond and was released.
Bond later released a statement regarding the situation:
“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”
Bond, who ran a 4.39 at the NFL Scouting Combine, caught 34 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Longhorns. The Alabama transfer had 99 receptions for 1,428 yards and 10 TDs in 41 career college games.
Bond has top-30 visits with the Browns, Packers, Chiefs and Titans. He had a private workout and dinner with Buffalo. He is also scheduled to attend the Falcons’ local prospect day.
Bond currently projects as a middle-round selection.
